Christ died. The new covenant is now in effect. Scripture is always very precise in it’s wording.
Luke 23:56 says, “On the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment.”
If the Sabbath was no longer a part of the new covenant time then scripture would not have called that day the Sabbath. If there was no more commandment to do so scripture would not have acknowledged it.
Hebrews 4:9 “There remains therefore a Sabbath rest for the people of God.”
