Recently someone on line went beyond what scripture says and claimed that David raped Bathsheba. So I was thinking about what would upset people the most if this had happened this year.
It wouldn’t be the murder of Uriah or the adultery. That sort of thing is on television all the time. If it were publicly known it would be a scandal alright, but people watch violence and sex on TV and movies. No, that wouldn’t be the worst problem.
David did not compound his sin. He did the right thing. He took responsibility for his actions. He married Bathsheba and took responsibility for the child. That is what people in the churches today would be the most upset about. Think about it.
