Elect, Chosen, Foreknowledge and Many More

The word Elect when applied to people is defined by scripture as Israel.

Isaiah 45:4 “For Jacob my servant’s sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me.”

In the Greek in 1 Peter 1:1 the phrase “strangers scattered” refers directly to the dispersion of Israel. Verse 2 says “Elect according to the foreknowledge”. That wording then ties to Romans 8:29-30.

Mark 13:20 “And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect’s sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.”

Notice the word chosen. It is tied to those who are elect. Chosen is another word that can be studied. Ephesians 1:4 is a good example. Verse 5 leads one to more words. See Romans 9:4 concerning the adoption. 1 Peter 2:9 is full of words that scripture has defined meaning for Israel and Israel alone.

It does not take much to see how many verses must be ignored or misunderstood with the common incorrect church teaching of scripture today. It is amazing how so many verses are tied together with words directed to Israel. Most Christians today are missing so very much meaning.

The modern day Jews are not Israel.
