A Good Example

In talking about the Law, Statutes and Judgements, Moses said,

Deuteronomy 4:6-8 “Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people. For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as Yahweh our God is in all things that we call upon him for? And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?”

This Law was given only to Israel. Is the wording exclusive? In other words, Are other nations prohibited from obeying this Law? The same goes for missions.

The gospel is to be preached, but that is all. We are not to incentivize or force belief in or the keeping of the gospel. How can we tell others to keep what we aren’t keeping ourselves? Our best method after just telling others is to obey it ourselves. Other nations used to look to our nation as mentioned in Deuteronomy above as a source of righteousness. Now all the other nations are interested in is what they can get for free from us. We have taught greed.

The Gospel has been preached far and wide. Bring the missionaries home and let us get our house in order.
