Hosea 3:1-2 “Then said Yahweh unto me, Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an adulteress, according to the love of Yahweh toward the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine. So I bought her to me for fifteen pieces of silver, and for an homer of barley, and an half homer of barley”.
Even some of the chapter headings have it wrong. One on line bible says, “Hosea Redeems his Wife”. It has been taught that Hosea went and found Gomer and bought her back. That is not what the scripture teaches. God told Hosea to go and buy yet another whore and have children by her to make a point. My software KJV says, “Hosea’s Second Symbolic Marriage” This is correct.
Gomer represented the House of Israel. The second woman, Gomer’s friend, represented the House of Judah.
Let the scripture speak for itself. Don’t believe the world.
