In the Matter of Balaam

Consider this personally and nationally.

Amos 3:6b “Does evil happen to a city, and Yahweh hasn’t done it?”

We have a lot of enemies who do not want to be at peace with us now.

A lesson from the time of Balaam. Balaam could not curse Israel. The only way to curse Israel was to get Israel to disobey Yahweh’s Law. Yahweh would then punish Israel in her disobedience.

Revelation 2:14 “But I have a few things against you, because you have there some who hold the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to throw a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality.”

What better way for an enemy to deal a blow to Christians than to have it taught that God’s Law is no longer valid. We can never please our God if we do not follow His commandments.

John 14:15 “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.”

Contrapositive statement of John 14:15

“If you do not keep my commandments, you do not love me.”

Proverbs 16:7 “When a man’s ways please Yahweh, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.”
