After Christ’s resurrection from the dead Acts 1:3 says,
“appearing to them over a period of forty days, and speaking about God’s Kingdom.”
In response to this teaching about the kingdom in verse 6 the disciples asked,
“Lord, are you now restoring the kingdom to Israel?”
Some preachers teach that after 40 days teaching the disciples still didn’t understand, but that is not true. Christ did not rebuke their question. In verse 7 Christ
“said to them, “It isn’t for you to know…”
The kingdom will be restored to true Israel in the future.
