Mark 8:15

Mark 8:15 “And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod.”

The scripture is written for our learning and edification. It also has much written to protect the followers of Jesus Christ. In this case we are given a name of a group with a specific teaching, the Pharisees, and a name of a person whose lineage was from Esau, that is Herod. So how can we follow this admonition of Christ today?

Today’s Judaism is Phariseeism is acknowledged by Jews still today. Herod was an Edomite, that is the people who descended from Esau, Jacob’s brother. Genesis 36 tells us twice that Esau is Edom.

Esau is the one with whom God has enmity or indignation forever, Malachi 1:4. The Jewish Encyclopedia tells us that “Edom is in modern Jewry”. So Christ is telling us to discern or avoid the teachings of the modern day descendants of the Jews.

This command has been ignored by quite a number of Christian churches and Christian Colleges. Many churches have been influenced by their teachings which are also known as political correctness. Think about how your church’s doctrine has changed since the 1950’s for example. Many churches and colleges invited these blasphemers in to do so. They have ignored the teachings of Christ. This is becoming very obvious as we see much teaching today that is rooted in the evil Talmud while we are told that the Bible is old fashion. We must remove their influence and teaching from the Christian churches and Christian Colleges. One does not ask an anti-Christ how to be a good Christian. Only scripture can teach us that.
