A Bible Myth: Gentile always means non-Israelite.

The English translations are very confusing concerning who is Israel in the new testament. The English translators chose to protect existing church doctrine over telling us what God actually said and intended for us to know. In the Hebrew and Greek there is unity of faith and doctrine.

If you went to some preaching schools you may have heard the phrase “Context is King. I would add to that Context and the Greek and Hebrew texts are King. Always let the context determine the meaning of a verse. Most false doctrines come from ignoring the context. Many of the rest come from ignoring the Greek and Hebrew word meanings. Here are three instance where the English translation use of Gentile is incorrect.

Romans 2:14-15 “For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)”.

The key here is “the law written in their hearts”. Scripture says that the only people that have the Law written in the hearts are the physical descendants of Jacob Israel, The House of Judah and the House of Israel. Jeremiah 31:31-33 and Hebrews 8:8-10. There are no exceptions.

Romans 9:24-26 “Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Judeans only, but also of the Gentiles? As he saith also in Hosea, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved. And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God.”

Children of the living God or Christians. The key here is to follow Paul’s direction and become familiar with at least the first and better the first two chapters of Hosea. That is the prophecy of the House of Israel being divorced by God before being sent into a temporary captivity. The House of Israel did not go out of existence. To do so would make God a promise breaker. If you doubt that read Hosea 1:10-11.

“Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God. Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: for great shall be the day of Jezreel.”

The fulfillment of this prophecy is found in Ephesians 2.

Ephesians 2:11-17 “Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens [alienated] from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.”

There are several keys and clues here. Remember every time you see the word Gentiles, the scripture actually says Nation. You are expected to understand from the context the who.

In verse twelve in the KJV the word aliens is a verb. It is actually alienated. One must have been a part of what ever one was alienated from. When God divorced the House of Israel, they became alienated. No other people were ever a part of the Nation of Israel. They lost the right to be called Israel which means “ruling with God”. This was a temporary alienation as God promised to remarry the House of Israel. Read Romans 7:1-4 and understand. Other clues include “middle wall of partition”, near or nigh and afar off.

Another is the use of the word reconcile in verse sixteen. One can not reconcile two parties who have never at one time been together. Only the House of Israel and the House of Judah were in this situation in scripture with a promise that with Christ they would be reunited or reconciled under one head, Christ.

Most preachers and teachers promote a fantasy about a people who for 2000 years have hated Christ and people who heard and still hear Christ’s voice and follow Him.

What makes more sense?

People who say they are Jews, but spit when they hear the name of Jesus Christ.

or

People who, if they have had any religion at all for the past almost 2000 years, have been Christians and have fulfilled every prophecy intended for Israel.

Hebrews 11:18 “Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called”. (Isaac’s Sons or Saxons)

Numbers 6:27 “And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them.” (Christians)

(The modern day Jews are not, and have never been, God’s Israel people as proven by the bible, history and even Jewish writings.)
