Every Word – The Giving of the Law

A lot has been written and even movies made showing the importance of every word and that there can be hidden meaning in every word in the Bible. At the same time many things that are not hidden are not understood or ignored. Many have been taught to ignore the Bible’s own definition for terms.

Romans 9:4 “Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises”.

Paul says that only Israel was given God’s Law.

Psalms 147:19-20 “He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel. He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye Yahh.”

The Law was given to Israel three times. The first was at Sinai. Exodus 19:5-8. The second giving of the Law is the book of Deuteronomy. The name of the book means “Second giving of the Law”. The third giving of the Law of God is what is called, the New Covenant.

Jeremiah 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith Yahweh, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.”

This is repeated twice in the book of Hebrews. 8:8-10 and 10:16. I have had a few tell me that the Law was only given to the “Jews” and we are under grace. The Law and the new covenant of God was in fact only given to Israel. Grace can not exist without Law. Think about it.

Philippians 2:12 “Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.”

The modern day Jews are not God’s Israel.
