Who Must We Love

Yesterday we showed that God, who is also Christ, did not love the entire world as the English translation of John 3:16 erroneously reads. Another detail that is often unknown is that the scripture does not teach that we are to absolutely love everyone.. The doctrine of love everyone is false. It has a very serious flaw with serious consequences. This false doctrine is a part of our problem today. We are now being punished for it.

We indeed must love our enemies.

Matthew 5:44 “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you”.

At the same time scripture is clear.

2 Chronicles 19:2 “And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Should thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate Yahweh? therefore is wrath upon thee from before Yahweh.”

The differences we have with our enemies can be petty or important, but scripture does not differentiate. It is God’s enemies that have important differences. As Christ warned, they hate Christ and thus they hate us. We must make sure that we treat them as scripture requires. We must learn to differentiate between those who love God, but hate us and those who hate God. Those who hate God do not fall under the love our enemies rule. Loving or even helping them brings wrath on us from God and earns one the status of traitor.

2 John 1:7, 9-11 “For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.”

We as a people must ignore who some of them say they are and begin to deal with what they actually do. There are people in this world who we help and bless all the time, but they hate God. They hate Christ with a passion. They even spit when they hear the name of Christ. It is helping those people that brings us punishment from God. When one actually does some research on those people, the claim as to who they are in relationship to God is found to be false. In history, when we have stopped blessing those who hate God, God has then blessed us.

1 John 2:23 “Whoever denies the Son, the same doesn’t have the Father. He who confesses the Son has the Father also.”
